A Message from Codey McIntyre
Dear Local Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers, and GRC Members,

We’re just a month away from the 2024 Curtis Oscar Noble Legislative Conference, and we’re looking forward to gathering with local leaders to network and address the provincial issues that impact our members.

Below, you’ll find the template letter for requesting a meeting with your MLA(s) on Tuesday, December 3. Please download and customize the letter as needed to invite your MLA. If an MLA is unavailable on that day, feel free to arrange an alternative meeting time and encourage them and their staff to attend our APFFPA Reception, as outlined in the letter. Our goal is to create a strong IAFF presence and focus on key issues at the Legislature during the conference.

The Lobby Issues are now finalized and available on the Lobby Items page of this website. With these materials ready, our next step is to connect with MLAs in advance of the conference. This outreach provides an important opportunity for locals and our provincial team to engage with MLAs and ministers, building momentum as we approach the event.

Locals are also encouraged to request, through their MLA(s), to attend Question Period in the afternoon on Tuesday, December 3. If it fits your schedule, attending this session offers a chance to observe the Legislature in action and hear invited guests announced at the start of Question Period. Our presence in the chamber will help bring additional attention to our issues.

Please continue to check this website for updates as we get closer to the conference. We’ll be adding new resources, confirming speakers, and refining the agenda.

As always, feel free to reach out with any questions. We look forward to seeing everyone in Edmonton for a successful conference.

In Solidarity,
Codey McIntyre
