Understanding wcb processes

Start Time : 1200-1430

The WCB Processes training course is designed specifically for Alberta firefighters to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) system. This course will guide you through the key processes involved in filing and managing WCB claims, ensuring that you are well-equipped to navigate the system effectively.

Government
Relations 101

Start Time : 1200-1430

This foundational course is designed to equip firefighters and union locals with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively engage with government and advocate for issues impacting the fire service. Participants will learn the fundamentals of government relations, public affairs, and how to build strategic relationships with key stakeholders. The course will also cover best practices for advancing firefighter-related causes at the local, provincial, and national levels, ensuring that your voice is heard in shaping public policy.

Successful Election Campaign

Start Time : 1445-1715

This course offers a strategic roadmap for running effective election campaigns within the IAFF, covering essentials like setting up a successful affiliate local, campaign do’s and don’ts, and best practices for engaging members. Participants will gain valuable insights to build strong support, communicate their vision, and manage campaign challenges—equipping them to serve and represent their locals with confidence.

New Union Leader 101
